New Zealand $ is currency. Use your ATM for best exchange rate. The buses are really cheap and simple. We really enjoyed the "Fruits of Rarotona" bus stop for great snorkeling. …

New Zealand $ is currency. Use your ATM for best exchange rate. The buses are really cheap and simple. We really enjoyed the "Fruits of Rarotona" bus stop for great snorkeling. There are coffee shops everywhere. The Saturday am market is fun. There are a few small but very good museums. The whale center out behind the airport is worth a visit. The people are lovely. Due to their isolation they are the most cohesive indigenous culture in the South Pacific. Loved it.
