It was mentioned that stores, cafe bars and things were along the trail. Is the trail easy to find as far as perhaps leaving a car (at a cafe perhaps) several miles along the route so you only have to walk one way? Would it be marked so you could do something like this even if you were unfamiliar with the area? Is there a publication that shows the trail and different starts and places where it returns to 'civilization'? Thanks

The trail is very rural. The cafes etc. are in the small towns. Best to choose one of the towns where the trail goes through - Bloomville (the end of the trail), Hobart, and Stamford and the best choices. Park in a lot near the trail and walk. Once you get out of the towns the trail opens up to beautiful vistas, wildflowers in spring, farms and cows on hillsides, and the North Branch of the Delaware and small tributaries winding in and out. But the only cafes/shops are those in the town. Hobart has five used bookstores that are fun to browse, and an English pub, the Bull and Garland. Stamford is a bigger town with grocery store and a couple of Italian restaurants. Bloomville is the smallest town but has Table on 10 which is a local farm-to-table landmark. You will see sign posts where the trail crosses the road and people just park by the side of the road.
