The guided fossil walks are for all ages and we walk for 5-10 minutes down the beach before we start our search. We take our time so there is no rush to keep up with everyone else. The time of day for fossil hunting depends on the tide. We need a low tide to find the fossils and this changes by approximately 40 minutes a day, so some of our fossil walks are in the morning, some across lunch and some during the afternoon. It is best to check our website calendar for all dates and times. We can also give you the daily tide times here at the centre. Most of our public guided walks take place on the weekends and during school holidays, with schools visiting Monday-Friday during term time.

Q:
Is it dog friendly?
A:
We took our dog, not to the heritage centre but on the fossil walk. You have to keep them on a lead and during the 1/2 talk we kept her in the van.
