Hi - we are hoping to visit the third weekend in August (2023) on a Saturday. I’d rather not prebook too far in advance since this will be our last day in London and we may want to do something else at the last minute. Do the tickets sell out, or will be probably be ok if we don’t book something until the day before? TIA.

Hi, we booked our tickets only two days out. We were happy to take any time of day. It may be different for public holidays and weekends or special events. Their website often helps.
We visited in December and enjoyed the light show. Palace itself is worth visiting. I believe they close at 4:00 in December because it gets dark, so get there early.
