This is one of the most beautiful canyons that I have been to n a long time, it has hikes sledding hills, and much more! I suggest going there during your travels.Full review by NORAH Q

Are the picnic areas before the winter closure gate open in winter? I understand they aren't clear of snow but if we wanted to venture out for an afternoon fire could we? We just need to dress warm and bring a shovel to clear the pit of snow and probably chairs. Any insight??
