South Beach in Tybee is really nice. Not in any way over crowded and the sand was pleasant. A few brave people in swimming in early April!Full review by StephenCr0ss

Super busy on a Saturday afternoon. You have to pay to park or have a parking pass. Plenty of parking when we came. No cost for the beach. Full review by Exploringontheroad

We are staying in Richmond Hill, GA which is 25 minutes from downtown Savannah (Per Mapquest) and want to go to the Beach for a few hours tomorrow. Where should we go where there is not a massive crowd of people and/or parking issues.

I agree with conrad. Get there early, parking will be hard to come by all over town.
I'm from Iowa and taking my daughter on a college visit to South Carolina. She would like to spend a day at the beach, and see Savannah. But we are going March 30-April 2. Is this a big spring break destination? We don't want to be in the middle of wild college shenanigans on this trip!

LOL! Despite Savannah, GA is a touristic destination all year long, it is far from the craziness-like if a Panama City Beach, FL during Spring Break, for example. Savannah, GA is the true Southern hospitality representation. Nice people, wonderful food, great places to visit, historic, cultural, musical, nature at its best and the tranquility we desire...to not say about the great chances of meeting some "ghosts" (as you know, Savannah has many haunting stories to tell). Some drawbacks would be that more popular places, like River Street, Tybee Island and other islands and beach at Savannah shoreline areas, may be crowded. Plan and time your visits well to avoid long waits. Somehow, we relate beach going and good times with sunshine. Well, weather uncertainty is an issue in Savannah. It is not unusual to have at that time you are going, still cooler days (about 52 Fahrenheit), some cloudy days and the very do often foggy weather. I never let the weather rob my intentions to have a good time. Enjoy your trip to Savannah, GA, as it is for me Paradise on Earth!
