It was a windy twisting gravel road to this tunnel. It is a short walk to tunnel. Also make sure to look for telegraph poles along the trail.Full review by louisArq

That's a great question. I know the areas around the tunnel are private but I believe the actual tunnel and parking area are public. There are no signs that tell of an opening or closing time and I know many who have gone after dark. There is an event October the 13th 3pm - 11pm there called Midnight at Moonville. You might want to try to catch that as well as exploring the cemetery. Just be careful if you go after dark. It is very slippery and there are drop offs along the trails and roadways.
