Even though there were sketchy moments, Kira handled our raft really well. Never capsized, never panicked. Low tide but still had a lot of fun, Highly recommendFull review by Jimmy8227361
Will you shut down rafting the numbers/royal gorge if the river cfs reaches a certain point?

Great question and that was my concern too. When we went the water was very fast. Prior to leaving I was calling daily to see the water speed that I believe is measured in CSMs. Three days prior to our trip they called me to say the water was moving so fast our 3 day trip was getting done in a day! So I was asked if I wanted a different river to raft. I wanted the Arkansas River so I said no. Plus there was no change in fee. Our trip ended up rafting only four hrs a day each day but we still did it as a 3 day trip. On our last day people were sand bagging the sides of the river banks and it did close the next day. We had the experience of a life time. Winderness in a raft watches the conditions well and won't do something unsafe. There are rules based on the csm speed of the water. Hope this helps and have a great trip.
Hi there. I'm interested in hearing from people who have taken the half-day Brown's Canyon whitewater rafting trip. Did the half-day trip satisfy your whitewater rafting desires or did you wish you had taken the longer full-day trip instead? Thanks for your input!

We did a full day and it was AWESOME! You only spend about 1.5 hours on the water each time. The morning we did one or two sections of easier skill sets, the afternoon was more advanced. You get a lunch in between back at base, which was very very good, and served to your crew by the guides. HIGHLY recommend the full day. Why on earth would someone NOT want to spend a day rafting?
Hey Shelly Saw your post and we have a family the same ages and was wondering if the rapids were fast and challenging or just a casual float down the river? Really looking for fun and challenging Alsomdidnyou do full day or half and would have changed that based on what you Mike

Hi Mike, We did the half day and yes it was challenging for us as first timers. It was rated 3-4 on rapids, but there was some casual floating to catch your breath. We will do it it again and probably go for the full day. Happy rafting!!
