Lots to see and lots to do. I was surprised there were no bugs or strange smells and all the patios are welcoming many places to eat and enjoy cocktails. Live music and a very vibrant entertainment …Full review by mhorn000

Sure it's incredibly commercialized and there's a cheap margarita at almost every turn ... but that's kind of the point. The Riverwalk is kind of what you make it. Clearly some want it to be a pub …Full review by S405DGbrianj

My family and I loved the Riverwalk. It will have a lot of foot traffic, so expect busy restaurants and shops. There is a good amount of food offerings, but I can honestly say that it was miss and hi…Full review by WaiPRUSA

While I can't answer your question from a legal or bylaw perspective, the river walk does have at least one elevator access from street level (may be another at the mall?) and though I didn't notice any handicap scooters on the walk, there were people with strollers or walkers. The walk is level but caution that there is no railing for most of it and should you drop a wheel off the edge, you could go for a swim (apparently a $500 fine if caught in the river....). Note also that the bridges that cross over the river from one side to the other have stairs (at least all the ones we crossed). I think someone from San Antonio or another more knowledgeable person should wade in here with more information. I'd try to reach the local visitor info site for that. There are restaurants and some shops as well as the river cruise are accessible with a wheelchair or scooter.

I really can't stand heat and humidity. Would I be silly going to San Antonio? Would I be OK going in winter? What months ((if any) are cool but dry?
A:
Winter averages are around mid 60's but it can drop down to the 40's. Probably not much chance of rain though. I'd avoid Christmas and Thanksgiving because of the extra cost of travel.
Q:
are there rental handicapped scooters available?
A:
No
