Anyone have an idea of how long is the waiting period to get in a tour group to Ellis Island and the top of the Statue of Liberty ? I tried to sign up and there was nothing available that I could find.

I found if you can book 3-4months out they'll be available dates. Some tours are only given in a specific season. Good luck!

You don't need to bring your own hat. It's quite a process to go through security and take the boat over so you likely don't want to carry it. When you get to Ellis Island, go inside the main building (follow the crowds) and the check in is next to the main ticket counter. Yes, photos allowed. It's such a great experience, enjoy!
