Easily 2 hours - and that’s not doing it in-depth. Obviously, it depends if you enjoy museums or are just doing it because you want to “tick it off the list”. It is an excellent depiction of early New Zealand and Maori history and worth the time you put into it.

There is plenty of parking alongside the museum. You might need to check their website re parking a campervan though.

My Wife and I are doing a cruise round New Zealand next year ,so we only get a day in each port .I suppose that all the cruises stop at the same ports of call. My question is what are the best places to visit ,we are in our 70's so nothing like hang gliding or that adventurous.

Personally I would advise Zealandia (nature reserve) and a visit to Weta workshops (this co does fabulous movie set work and the tour is great)
