There were many nice aspects to Amalienborg but some left us wanting. First of all I would recommend getting your tickets online before you get there. Just saves a bit of time. There is a series of l… Full review by RjessMMM

Beautiful palace. One side is the museum and the other the residence. If you go at around 12 you can see an incredible display by the guards. Full review by Julie B

I can only answer your question about train tickets been aceptable to show on your phone as long as you have WiFi capabilities. You could always take a picture of the tickets and show them to the conductor on your phone (IPhone). I would suggest you get WhatApp downloaded on your cell because if works the best in Europe. That way you could communicate via text and calls faster with friends and family. Because my daughter lives in Europe, she was the one in charge of making trip plans and getting the tickets. Many coffee shops and restaurants have strong internet where you could find information, buy tickets, etc. when browsing the net. Also, beware that sometimes US credit cards might not work in some shops, train, subway stations. But your debit card should work because it may required for you to enter PIN number. Copenhagen was great! Enjoy!

Hi there. Regarding the combination ticket for Amalienborg and Rosenborg, I see that it can be bought on the Rosenborg web site, but the entrance is "timed." I assume that's for the Rosenborg. Must Rosenborg be seen first, or can Amalienborg be seen first? I was thinking of seeing Amalienborg after the changing of the guard, then going afterwards to Rosenborg. However, I don't see a way to buy the combo ticket on the Amalienborg web site.

The Copenhagen Card really is the solution for seeing all of the attractions in and around Copenhagen. It is good for metro, train and buses. We even used it to go to KronBorg (the Hamlet Castle up in Elsinor) It is about a 40 minute ride north on the S1 train and well worth the time it takes to get there. It gets you into almost everything(even Ripleys Believe it or not where there is a nice Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tale House). It is worth a discount on the tour boats but it only gets you a free ride on a boat at one location and I was never able to find where that was. We used it to go to Tivoli in the evenings to walk through with all the lights on and to have dinner at one of the different dining establishments. Loved Copenhagen and would go back again.
