Very interesting!! A fellow gave a demonstration of how cigars are made. Visitors were given the opportunity to smoke a cigar, but most of our group just watched the demonstration.Full review by CarolynjuneTravels

Hello! Is there a cost associated with taking a tour here? Do I need to make reservations ahead of time and if so, how? Thank you for the help!
A:
I was invited by a friend who works closely with La Aurora. Cigar Distributor don’t think they charge. You just go to free zone area and go to there facilities. They have a store for purchases.

What provider did you use for the transportation to La Aurora from the cruise port at Amber Cove?

We got a rental car and drove from Puerto Plata (a little further East from the Cruise yards). Unless you are a crazy driver, I wouldn't recommend it. The roads to Santiago are full of pot holes and other surprises. The traffic in Santiago is, in a word, insane. Uber might be a good way to go. Also, they have local transportation buses that go this route. They are like a very large VW hippie bus. Never got in one, so a 2 hour ride in one of these would be an adventure for sure. Safest bet, take a bus offered by your cruise-line. If you don't mind the adventure and the risks- take an uber, the public bus or rent a car. You can also hire a cab for the day for negotiated prices
Q:
