No. 1 Tennessee and No. 2 Auburn remained in a battle for the top spot in the latest AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll Monday for the fourth consecutive week to keep the SEC's dominant start to the 2024-25 season rolling.

The holiday season hasn't had a major impact on the USA TODAY Sports men's basketball poll with Tennessee still leading Auburn for the No. 1 spot.

Although the same team is atop this week's Associated Press Top 25 men's college basketball poll, released on Monday, there is a heavy SEC presence and some movement throughout the rankings.

Northwestern’s Brooks Barnhizer scores 21 points, grabs 17 boards and has six assists, four steals and three blocks after he had 10/10/3/3/3 in a win over Georgia Tech to be the only player to post 20 plus points, 10 plus rebounds, three plus assists, three plus steals and three plus blocks twice in a season.

The AP Top 25 college basketball poll released Monday featured Tennessee holding on to its No. 1 ranking despite a strong surge from No. 2 Auburn. The Volunteers received 41 first-place votes, while the Tigers snagged the other 21 votes for the top spot.

Tennessee and Auburn remained Nos. 1-2 atop the AP men's college basketball poll, which featured 10 total SEC teams.

Tennessee remains No. 1 in the men's AP Top 25 poll, with Auburn, Iowa State, Duke and Alabama rounding out the top five.
