Boone County continues to lean Democratic, with Democrats winning a majority of ballot races. But there were a couple of Republican winners.

Democrat incumbent Janet Thompson secured a fourth term as Northern District commissioner, defeating a challenge from Republican Cheri Toalson Reisch. It was a relatively close race. Thompson received 1,369 more votes than Reisch, 19,371 to 18,002. There also were 18 write-in votes. So, Thompson came away with 52% to Reisch's 47.7%.

Repbulican incumbent Erich Kretzinger and Republican Scott Longhorn prevailed in a tight race for a pair of Boone County Board of Supervisors seats Tuesday night.
