Retired outfielder Charlie Blackmon has a new role with the Colorado Rockies as special assistant to the general manager.

Charlie Blackmon, who played his entire 14-year MLB career with the Rockies, is rejoining the club in a front office role just a few months after retiring.

Charlie Blackmon gave up his mullet, but there’s no way the baseball diehard could completely walk away from the game. The Rockies named Blackmon special assistant to general manager Bill Schmidt on Saturday ahead of the start of Rockies Fest at Coors Field.

Former Rockies star Charlie Blackmon is returning to the organization as a special assistant to GM Bill Schmidt. Blackmon retired at the end of this past season.
