Nearly 3,000 fans from around the world braved the cold and gathered at Graceland to mark what would have been Elvis Presley’s 90th birthday.

WASHINGTON — It was 90 years ago that Elvis Aaron Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. As part of this year's celebration, Graceland in Memphis is hosting several days of events honoring the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

Graceland in Memphis is celebrating Elvis' 90th birthday with four days of festivities and the opening of a new exhibit. The new 90 for 90 Exhibit features 90 curated stories told through items specially selected from the over 1.

Elvis Presley, nicknamed by many as "The King of Rock and Roll," was born 90 years ago in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Elvis was born in East Tupelo, Mississippi. (The town was annexed by its larger neighbor, Tupelo, in 1946.)
