A widespread storm system that moved quickly across Central Florida on Monday morning spawned a powerful tornado near Lake Mary that leveled most of a house, damaged roofs, toppled trees and left hundreds of residents without power.

A Central Florida local news station was on air covering the Tornado Warning when the twister passed by overhead.

Residents were out in their yards on Tuesday cleaning up the damage and debris after an EF2 tornado touched down in Seminole County, Florida. The tornado had peak winds of at least 115 mph, which is comparable to a Category 2 or Category 3 hurricane.
