The seven-time All-Star was assessed a match penalty for cross-checking Canucks forward Conor Garland in the face during the final seconds of the Oilers' 3-2 loss on Saturday in Vancouver.

Kevin Bieksa was the latest media personality to join in on the Connor McDavid saga following his vicious cross-check, and he had quite the bold take to share.

McDavid’s cross-check to Garland’s face is exactly the kind of play the NHL is trying to get out of the game. Violence exists in the league, but targeting the head is punishable by suspension and McDavid will have a hearing about the incident on Monday.
