The Dallas Cowboys say offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has agreed to become the storied franchise’s next coach

The Dallas Cowboys are hiring offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as their next head coach, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Jane Slater reported on Friday.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, as unpredictable as he can be at times, made a move to choose familiarity with the team's newest head coaching hire. Dallas has promoted Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Scottenheimer to be the franchise's 10th head coach -- and the ninth under Jones' ownership that began in 1989 -- the team announced Friday night.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski spoke for 57 seconds before skirting the cameras Thursday morning. He introduced new offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, explained the hiring process and — oh, by the way — announced Stefanski would call plays again.

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Thursday that he will resume calling the offensive plays in 2025. Stefanski relinquished play-calling duties to then-offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey after a 1-6 start this season.

Hank Fraley isn't going anywhere. The Lions offensive line coach is staying with Detroit in 2025. Fraley had interviewed for the offensive coordinator position with the Seattle Seahawks and was also under consideration to join former Lions coaches Ben Johnson
