Another national retailer will be closing stores in 2025. Dollar General announced in its fourth quarter earnings report last week it is planning to close 96 Dollar General stores and 45 Popshelf stores during the first quarter of 2025, while another six Popshelf stores will be converted into Dollar General stores.

The company said it made the decision after assessing individual store performance, future expectations, and operating conditions.
