D.C. residents in Ward 8 will be without a representative on the D.C. Council for the time being as Council member Trayon White was formally expelled from the council on Tuesday after being charged with a federal count of bribery.

White is facing serious federal bribery charges, accused of accepting thousands of dollars in kickbacks in exchange for helping an organization secure government contracts.
