Soldiers, Veterans, and community members gathered together for the 24th Infantry Division’s 74th Annual Reunion Memorial Ceremony at Fort Stewart, Georgia, Oct. 14, 2022.

For many years 24th Infantry Division was the heavy mechanized component of that force. No blame for Task Force SmithAca,!a,,cs failure was attributed to LTC Smith or the 24th.

Andy Alaniz went on to serve in the 24th Infantry Division. Saturday morning members of that combat unit laid a wreath at his grave site at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
