But still, Bosch’s brake-by-wire could offer more adaptive, precise braking, but it would need to prove itself under even more real-world conditions, and over a much longer period of time.

The brake-by-wire system is being developed at the Bosch development centre near Heilbronn. For safety reasons the cables, control units and actuators are duplicated in case of failure, said Bosch.
