On March 19, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Class II recall notice on Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc., the parent company that produces one of the grocery chain’s generic cheeses. The recall, which was voluntarily initiated by Great Lakes Cheese, was initiated on Feb. 15, and has yet to be given a termination date.

One of Aldi's Colby Jack cheese items have been recalled after a possible metal contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

More than 4,000 bags of Aldi’s Happy Farms shredded cheese has been recalled across four states for potential foreign matter contamination. The recall was initiated by the manufacturer, Great Lakes Cheese Co.
