The Bowen family systems theory, developed by psychiatrist Dr. Murray Bowen, offers profound insights into the dynamics of family relationships and how they shape our lives.

Bowen informs planning professionals and illuminates their approach to many family-related services and the intricacies they may involve. The theory is expressed by a set of eight concepts.

The Rev. John Bell, pastor at Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora, will offer "Basic Course in Bowen Family Systems Theory," nine monthly sessions starting Sept. 16. The public is invited.
