Danielle Collins was the talk of the tennis world in January when she riled up the Australian Open crowd - but the American issued an emotional address after upsetting Iga Swiatek at the Italian Open.

ROME — Iga Świątek ’s struggles continue, at one of the last places anyone in tennis would have expected. Świątek, a master of clay-court tennis and defending champion at the Italian Open, lost to American Danielle Collins in the second round, falling 6-1, 7-5.

The defending champion is out at the Rome Open as Iga Swiatek has been dumped out by Danielle Collins who certainly has no love lost for the former World No.1 but has only beaten her once until today.
