The Democratic Republic of Congo's President Félix Tshisekedi and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame have called for an "immediate ceasefire" in eastern DR Congo, after having direct talks in Qatar.

The two countries are on opposite sides in the war in their giant neighbour, DR Congo. The meeting comes amid an M23 advance that has seen the rebels seize two cities in eastern DR Congo.
The troops were sent two years ago to support the Congolese army fight the Rwandan-backed M23 rebels, which has seized control of large parts of mineral-rich eastern DR Congo this year.
