February marks National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and some Lowcountry organizations are working to educate and provide resources to young people across the Tri-County area about the issue.

February marks teen dating violence awareness month and The Compass Center is sharing why both parents and their children should be educated on the topic. In January, 129 domestic assaults both simple and aggravated have been reported in Sioux Falls.

In recognition of National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a special workshop, “Unmasking Teen Dating Violence,” According to the news release, the workshop is designed to equip ‘teenage girls with the knowledge and resources to recognize abusive relationships.
