Dubai: Dubai Safari Park has invited visitors to name three rare baby animals when it reopens its gate after the summer break on October 1.

One of the biggest highlights before closure is expected to be the first birthday celebration of Onyx, the park’s beloved baby rhino born last year.

Safari West, the private wildlife preserve north of Santa Rosa, announced Saturday it had finally named a baby rhino born in the park earlier this month: Otto Lang.

Park officials say bouncing baby rhino calf is strong, nursing, and is bonding well with its mom. Safari West Veterinarian Dr. Emily Cehrs estimates the baby weighs around 100 pounds.

Safari West has made sure its new baby rhino has a name no other rhino in the world could possibly have.
