Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) is one of the most successful independent art colleges in Europe, offering a range of programmes across art, design, architecture and landscape architecture.
In 1821, it became the Edinburgh School of Arts, changing its name 30 years later to the Watt Institution and School of Arts. Edinburgh College of Art was founded in 1907.
Plans have been lodged for the redevelopment of a renowned Scottish art college campus. The move comes after the on-site student population has risen by 22% in the last five years.
