Mixed drinks to-go were previously not allowed under the Alcoholic Beverage Code. This required bars to sell margaritas, for example, with the tequila in a separate sealed mini bottle.

Gov. Greg Abbott approved a waiver on Saturday allowing restaurants and bars to serve mixed drinks to-go and for delivery, according to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC).
