Gas prices, though having risen slightly while oil prices continue to fall to prices not seen since 2021, could begin to dip downward despite the summer travel season.

The average price of gasoline rose by 4.7 cents per gallon this week, undoing all but 0.2 cents per gallon of progress made the week before. That leaves South Carolinians with an average price of $2.72 per gallon, based on GasBuddy’s survey of over 3,000 stations in the state.
