As well as creating some of the 20th century's most rousing classical compositions, Gustav Holst was also a influential figure in creating an 'orgy of song' in the Essex village of Thaxted.
Gustav Holst was born in Cheltenham in 1874. His most celebrated work is The Planets. Holst studied at the Royal College of Music. He taught at St Paul's Girls' School and at Morley College.
The faded sheets were signed by no other than Gustav Holst, the English composer best known as the composer of the seven-movement orchestral suite, The Planets, reports The Bay of Plenty Times.
