The organisers of a gathering planned for outside Istana Negara tomorrow morning have not notified the police of their intention, says Brickfields district police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor.

The leader of a group of Umno supporters who submitted a petition to Istana Negara yesterday said it was never intended to be a gathering. “I did not hold a gathering.

Mr Saifuddin was answering a question over an update following an attempted trespass into Istana Negara and a recent attack at a police station.

The Istana Negara is the King’s official residence. “Further checks on the vehicle led to the discovery of a machete. Two local men, aged 29 and 37, were arrested,” said Commissioner Rusdi.
