New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said the state is willing to cooperate with the Trump administration’s efforts to deport undocumented migrants suspected of entering the country illegally — but only under certain circumstances.

Federal agents, led by new DHS secretary, made heavily publicized arrest in country’s biggest sanctuary city Tuesday.

The state will cooperate with federal officials when a person is suspected of crossing the border without checking into an official port of entry, among other cases.

Hochul criticized congressional inaction on immigration reform, accusing Republicans of politicizing the issue and leaving states to handle the fallout. She assured New Yorkers the state would continue protecting immigrant families and addressing immigration challenges as they arise.
