Leslie was appointed by Bishop Michael Coyner, who oversees the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church. The Indiana Conference is divided into 10 regional districts.

Leslie church's final home was built in 1910. It was remodeled in the late 1930s. The church described it as Gothic architecture. "The ceiling, ivory in color, is of Insulite Acoustical tile.
