The blaze has broken out close to the M62 near Ripponden, West Yorkshire, with smoke drifting over to the Saddleworth area of Greater Manchester. The fire has spread to an area 2kms long.

Images taken from motorway cameras show heavy congestion between Junction 18 and Junction 19 on the M62 westbound. The M62 westbound has been closed as emergency services have attended.
