On Friday in Augusta, Maine House Republicans re-elected Representative Billy Bob Faulkingham of Winter Harbor to serve as their leader.

The race for Maine’s Senate seat continues. Incumbent independent Senator Angus King is leading with over 52 percent of the vote. Senator King says he’s ready for a third term. However, he held off declaring victory.

Senate Democrats elected a new president and shuffled the deck for new leaders in other positions, on Friday, choosing progressive Democrats for leadership roles.

On Wednesday Maine Senate Democrats announced they hold at least 20 of the 35 seats with one seat now too close too call.
