Marksburg Castle, towering above the village of Braubach on the east side of the river, has endured nearly 800 years of change and turmoil without seeing its ponderous stones burned, blasted or razed.

LIVING in a country with very few historic buildings is going to give you an appreciation for a castle. Especially one that was built more than 800 years ago and is still in pretty good nick.
