David Daniels, who was fired from his tenured position as an opera teacher, waited too long to file his lawsuit against the university, pushing his complaint outside the statue of limitations, wrote Sean Cox, chief judge of the Michigan Eastern District of the federal district court, in an opinion filed Monday, Feb. 10.

A judge has dismissed a lawsuit by an acclaimed opera singer who sued the University of Michigan over his firing for what the school deemed sexual misconduct.
