GUWAHATI, India — Landslides and flash flooding triggered by days of torrential monsoon rains in India’s northeast have killed at least 22 people, officials said Saturday.

The Northeast, for the first time ever, will host the Defence Expo in October this year in which over 200 indigenous manufacturers, startups and MSMEs will participate.

State governments, especially in Assam, have failed to implement long-term policies to alleviate people’s suffering.
