Qualcomm is making a move for the mid-range PC market with a new system-on-chip. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Qualcomm unveiled Snapdragon X, the latest chip in its Snapdragon X Series of PC processors.

During the height of CES 2025, Qualcomm unveiled the existence of its new Snapdragon X processor, which the company says will create opportunities for more budget-friendly Windows laptops as early as this year.

Qualcomm is lining up the Snapdragon X against Intel’s ( INTC) Core 5 120U processor, which is also used to power mid-range PCs. Overall, the company says its Snapdragon X offers better performance per watt than the competing Intel chip and is better suited for AI tasks.
