Fierce wind and storms have transformed part of Lake Erie, revealing boulders and rock formations normally hidden by water, Ohio photos show.
He said they are more prominent in the Lake Erie’ eastern basin. The rocks can be spotted with a 365-millimeter UV light. The human eye is not able to see the rocks glow without it, Lynn said.
Previous Lake Erie seiches have caused damage and injuries. In 1844, a 22-foot seiche killed 78 people and caused enough ice damming to temporarily stem the flow over Niagara Falls.
