State Fair of Texas concludes fun-filled 24-day run 02:03 DALLAS — The State Fair of Texas has come to an end after 24 days of fried food, fair games, and fun. The gates closed at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The State Fair of Texas, a private nonprofit, leases the 277-acre (112-hectare) fairgrounds near downtown Dallas from the city each year for the event.

State Fair of Texas tickets. The fair has a variety of ticket options. Daily admission tickets are between $15 to $25 for adults, $10 to $18 for children and $5 to $18 for seniors.

This year, the State Fair of Texas runs from Friday, Sept. 27 through Sunday, Oct. 20. The annual event spans 24 consecutive days, making it the longest-running fair in the country.
