WALPOLE – An 89-acre park in Walpole is getting ready to celebrate its 100th birthday. To mark the occasion, Francis William Bird Park has been given a makeover for community members to enjoy.

Downtown Walpole recently announced its slate of holiday events starting with the Walpole Santa Parade that will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 27 starting at Walpole High School and making its way downtown.

In total, the park cost about $103,000 – $80,000 was appropriated at Town Meeting, $5,000 donated from the Walpole Lions Clubs and another $18,000 being fundraised by Beth Pelick for lights.
