On my way to take pictures at nearby lake, this Monarch decided to take a break on a native Minnesota butterfly weed plant. I really like how the colors on the flower match the butterfly.

Butterfly weed is drought-tolerant and ideal for mixed-perennial borders, meadows or natural areas. Once established, the plant should be left alone, as its deep taproot is difficult to transplant.
