CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A huge development in Chesterfield is one step closer to breaking ground after supervisors approved plans for Winterfield Crossing Wednesday night.

Winterfield United Methodist Church started in 1875. Its earliest members built brush arbors of wood and tree limbs to provide shade, and they congregated beneath them to sing hymns.

Winterfield Park’s amenities include a park near the community’s entrance, and Main Street Homes plans to build a residents’ club and a swimming pool this year.
