Five sheep had been killed and investigators found evidence of wolf presence, including wolf tracks and bite marks on carcasses consistent with wolves.

A gray wolf that had been released in Colorado apparently traveled more than 350 miles north to Wyoming, where it was killed by federal officials. It had been found at a site where five sheep were killed by at least one wolf.
