Beginning Aug. 24, dozens of bus routes could be eliminated or shortened if the transit authority doesn't receive more funding. Regional Rail, subway and buses would all run less frequently, too.

SEPTA announced its budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year starting July 1, outlining significant cuts to regional rail lines and bus routes.

All this can be avoided, the agency says, if Harrisburg can agree on a budget that funds mass transit statewide.
